FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
Artwork & File Setup
What format should my artwork be in?
Please upload artwork as a transparent PNG at 300 DPI resolution. Designs with lower resolution may appear blurry or pixelated, especially around the edges. Avoid unnecessary blank space around your artwork, as this affects scaling within the gangsheet builder.
Should I save my designs in RGB or CMYK?
Always save your files in RGB colour mode when using Illustrator or Photoshop. Our DTF printers are calibrated for RGB, which helps produce more vibrant, accurate colours. Avoid CMYK, as it can cause prints to appear dull or misaligned with what you see on screen.
What size should my artwork be?
We can print artwork up to 60cm wide. Common print sizes include:
- Pocket prints: 10x10cm
- Letterbox (chest): 28x10cm
- Large square: 28x28cm
You can scale your designs to suit any garment.
Can I print fine details?
Yes, but we recommend that all fine lines and strokes be 0.8mm or thicker to avoid issues with peeling or ink dropout. For text, use Calibri or fonts above 8pt.
Can I print photos?
Absolutely! DTF is great for full-colour and photographic prints. Just make sure your image is 300 DPI and high resolution.
What happens if I don’t have high-resolution artwork?
Low-res images may look pixelated, cause misalignment of the white base, and may have visible white edges.
Can I just change my resolution to 300 DPI?
No. Changing the resolution in an editor won’t improve image quality. Start with a high-res file.
Can you fix or recreate my artwork?
Yes, for a small fee. We’ll send you a preview link to approve before printing.
Can you resize my artwork?
Yes, we can resize it for a small fee. Or you can use free tools online or canva.com if you prefer to do it yourself.
Can you print semi-transparent designs or fadeouts?
Yes, but we recommend half toning these effects. Contact us if you’re unsure.
Will white peek out around my design?
Not if your file is high-res with a clean transparent background. Poor quality or blurry edges will cause the white underbase to show.
Can you colour match?
Yes, You’ll need to provide a physical reference or Pantone colour. A small Fee may apply.
Will my colours print correctly?
We use CMYK colour profiles and ORGB inks, Colours may differ slightly from screen to print. We recommend ordering a swatch or test print first if you need an extreme precision in colour matching.
Can I order a colour swatch?
Yes, for $20, you’ll receive a physical swatch plus a digital version for design reference. Just send us an E-mail to info@printspacedtf.com and we’ll get that sorted for you.
